Prepare to get hungry because these Melty Veggie Sliders with Caramelized Onions are coming your way in the form of ooey-gooey-cheesy goodness!
My soul is happy.
How is everyone’s weekend going? Mine includes driving up to Santa Barbara for a meeting and then driving back home (yikes) on Friday, recovering most of Saturday and tackling my to-do list, and going on a casual date with Kyle to go see the new Jurassic Park. YOU GUYS. Guess what they just installed in the movie theatre.
Reclining seats. Like, full-on, almost flat on your back, ultra squishy reclining seats.
More like chair heaven if ya ask me. I could spend the rest of my life in those chairs watching dinosaur movies and stuffing my face with buttery popcorn and coke + raspberry slushy.
However, life is certified jerk and occasionally you have to do real-people things like work and get out of cushiony air-conditioned theaters and eat food that isn’t terrible for you. LIKE HEY. I’m not 100% sure how to “adult” yet. Please don’t make me.
One thing I can do? Eat these. Please excuse that terrible, terrible segway, but, as I type this and looking at these blown-up photos of melty melty yumminess, I can’t help but try to get back on topic and try to describe how good they are. I MEAN. C’MON. You really can’t go wrong with baked sliders that ooze sweet and salty perfection.
And the best part? These are vegetarian and thus more inclusive to all of you non-meat eating foodies out there! The secret ingredient comes in the form of a new-to-me product that seriously WOW-d me in the flavor and health department. It’s not often that I find a vegetarian substitution that is just as satisfying as the real thing, but BUBBA Veggie Burger blew me out of the water!
Bubba Veggie Burgers come with a host of benefits, such as including no GMO’s, being all-natural, gluten-free, vegan friendly, low in fat, cholesterol free, multigrain, full of fiber, and an excellent source of vitamin A and C. Oftentimes, there’s a sacrifice in flavor when you make recipes so good for the body, but not so in this case! One of the main ingredients is black beans, which add a fantastic taste and protein-packed body to the burgers.
This is my special twist to an already amazing product! As many of you know, my favorite flavor combinations are sweet and salty, so I paired these black bean veggie burgers with a sweet Hawaiian-style roll, caramelized onions, and tons of harvati cheese. Each bite is packed full of flavor and just as good as its meat counterpart!
Excuse me while I go stuff my face with these. Lunch is served!

As a vegetarian I always feel left out of the slider experience – these look great! How do they do on the grill?
Christine Skari says
They should do splendidly on the grill! Just cook em’ up like normal burgers and dig in
