Hi friends! I’m back with another super awesome North Face post!
This one focuses on their Mountain Athletics app, which definitely comes in handy with the workouts I’ve been doing lately. North Face asked me to test out their fitness app (something I’m always more than happy to do!), and I’m so excited to share some of its well-designed and fun interactive features!
You begin by creating a short profile that consists of your gender and the program you’re interested in. The many options include running, general fitness, 2 different kinds of climbing, and 2 different kinds of skiing (which remind this half Norwegian girl how much she misses it)! I opted for running because of the half-marathon I was preparing for, and loved that the app focuses on ALL the details.
Mountain Athletics from The North Face sets your completion date for you, making your goal all the more real; because as we know, the sooner we set a date, the more motivated we feel to follow through with anything we do. Speaking of motivation, this app does a great job of rewarding the user with badges to encourage perseverance! I have to be honest here: I continue working out through this app because 1) I want to be fit and healthy, and 2) I want to collect ALL the badges!!!
With a majority of the workouts, there is a brief description as well as a video for us visual learners. This is a great feature for learning new moves safely since oftentimes, it’s easier to replicate exercises when shown with a video rather than just reading a description. This is something a lot of apps don’t have, so I’m glad that The North Face is going above and beyond for every athlete using Mountain Athletics!
To be even MORE helpful than it already is, the app includes a built-in timer for your rests, not even missing a beat. Once you complete your program (For me, it was a couple days before my half-marathon!) you’re congratulated and given a summary of all the exercises you did. Talk about a sense of accomplishment!
If you’re looking to improve your workout regime or if you’re in need of a new fitness app, Mountain Athletics is the way to go! Try one day of the program and let me know how it goes; I would love to hear about your experience . I also encourage you to look out for Mountain Athletics events in your area because they’re a guaranteed blast!
Don’t forget to check out The North Face Mountain Athletic gear online and be sure to enter the contest that may potentially win you a $500 gift card to buy all the workout clothes that your heart desires (like this super cute dry-fit coral jacket I’m sporting!).

Do you know if they make this for Android? I can’t find it in the Google Play Store.

I am totally with you on the badges as motivation! I have not used this app before (though I will definitely check it out now!), but I find that silly little things like badges do the job for me and my motivation!

Ooh, I like that the app includes videos of the moves! Seriously, the most difficult thing has to be figuring out how to do a new exercise based on reading a description haha and pictures help for sure, but videos are even better. There are 1 or 2 fitness bloggers I follow on Instagram and I love when they post short videos of exercises!

I’ve always considered using apps for workouts but have yet to make the transition. The North Face App sounds motivating; it might just convert me!
