Mini-Anniversary Date WIAW

Hello, all! This is just going to be a short, picture-saturated recap since I’m exhausted and have to get up early tomorrow morning. I finished my physics midterm today, so my brain is a bit fried and needs a few extra Zzzs.

After I got back from my bio lab, Kyle and I headed over to a new-to-us restaurant called Stella Mare’s to celebrate our mini-anniversary of dating for 3 1/2 years. Like I mentioned before, I know it doesn’t seem like a long time to most people, but we’re just wee babes and even a half year gives us a reason to celebrate with good food ;).

The restaurant focuses on comfort with a French twist and definitely wins the award for cutest atmosphere in my books!

After stuffing some warm and toasty baguette in my face, I ordered the Steak Bordelaise, which was served with shallots and a red wine sauce along with mashed potatoes. I also ordered grilled asparagus on the side to get in some extra veggies. Kyle went with the salmon and the best roasted potatoes ever. I don’t know how they cooked them exactly, but holy heck were they delicious! Perfectly seasoned and crispy. Mhm. I can’t even.

We ended up splitting a bowl of toasted coconut almond chip (<– our favorite) and english toffee crunch. Sososo good!

IMG_0105So there you have it! A night out of good eats. I’m currently about to pass out on my laptop, so that’s probably a sign that I should get to bed. I hope you have a great Wednesday!

Question of the Day: What’s the best thing you ate today?

3 1/2 yrs is 3 1/2 yrs girl! Glad you two were able to step away from all your studying & do some celebrating! xoxo

You guys are absolute perfection and I love that you celebrate half-years 😀 And I’d have to say that the best thing I ate lately was the crepes I had for dinner last night. I hadn’t had any in a while and they hit the spot juuuuuust right.

That restaurant is adorable, and you’re adorable, and both of you are adorable, and your food looks good. Even that steak, which is saying something because after the Brazilian Steakhouse last night I balk at the mere mention of meat…

Aww, you two are so ridiculously cute. Don’t think I didn’t notice that slight color coordination you’ve both got goin’ on! All of your food looks delish and I loooove the atmosphere of that restaurant– so cozy and cute! SB definitely wins for adorable restaurants with great ambiance. And.. toasted coconut almond chip ice cream?! Need. Happy 3.5 years :) xox

Haha that was actually not planned! Guess we’re so in sync that we even match subconsciously (so corny haha… my apologies ;). )Thanks, love!

I used to have a friend who celebrated her monthly anniversary with her boyfriend. Which was cute in the beginning, but not so much 3 years later… P.S. You pull off lipstick so well and I’m jealous!

You and Kyle seem like such a happy couple. Do you guys ever fight/ get annoyed at each other, and what are your tips on having a long relationship?

    • says

Thanks, Angela! We’re very happy together :).

To be honest, we don’t really ever fight. Part of that is due to Kyle being SO steady and non-tempermental. I’m much more prone to getting irritated and annoyed, but he’s really rational and level-headed so things never really get to the point where we fight. Whenever I do get irritated, it lasts .02 seconds before I realize I’m being silly and apologize to Kyle for being hormonal and fussy for no reason. That by itself is pretty rare, though. We get along really well!

As far as tips go, I just asked Kyle and he says that “being understanding and listening” is one of the more important things to making a relationship strong. He also says that a good sign that you’re with the right person is being able to do anything together and just being generally happy in each other’s company. Kyle ad I study/eat/workout together and there’s never a dull moment or times where I think I’d be better off without him :). For me, I think honesty, being able to talk about anything, and laughter are all key to a long and healthy relationship!
