So these:
But first, this:
I’ve been busy lately. The combination of studying, classes, exercising, making time for friends and Kyle, and balancing my blog don’t leave me with much time to spare. In fact, as I write this, I’m sitting in my college’s library taking a break from writing a tedious French essay. Now that I think about it, I should probably just live here since I already spend the majority of my free time sitting at a desk with a textbook and a latte. Woohoo! Don’t I sound like a regular party animal!
Anyways, while I am finding time to cook dinner most nights, it’s always a welcomed relief to have healthy and delicious snacks waiting for me when a craving strikes. Even better if they include chocolate, because chocolate makes everything better. True fact. Think about it. World hunger? Chocolate. Diseases and progress in science and technology? There’s a bizarre juxtaposition between a country’s chocolate consumption and the number of Nobel Peace Prize winners per its population density. Shoutout to my motherland, Norway! You go, Glenn Coco!
So that’s why I’m in love with my new version of my Dark Chocolate Avocado Truffles. Enter: Mocha Avocado Truffles! Not only do I get to eat a tasty truffle made with dark chocolate, but I also get my caffeine fix, which will lead me to be successful in life. Let me explain with this helpful diagram.
Absolutely foolproof.
But seriously, they taste just as rich and chocolate-y as truffles made with tons of sugar and heavy whipping cream. And, you can hardly taste the avocado, if at all- pinkie swearsies. I’ve tested them on at least 10 different people, and every single one of them is shocked when I tell them that they’re made primarily from an avocado. If you don’t believe me, go check out some of the reviews in the comments of my original version.
This is one of Kyle’s favorite recipes and he loves enjoying them with his morning coffee while immersed in a good book!

I love this. The avocado must add an amazing creaminess, a brilliant healthy substitute. I’m all over this recipe like chocolate on an avocado.
Christine Skari says
You bet it does! Honestly, I sometimes can’t believe it myself that the main fat source in them is avocados. They just taste plain delicious! 😀
Lars Skari says
These are really good. Nam!

Hi, Dad!
Ksenija @ With An Open Mind says
Thank you girl, these sound like the perfect alternative to my usual healthy date-snack balls. And we all know what studying does to our sweet tooth! While I am writing my thesis I need to have a few snacks around. Fruit, date balls and dark chocolate covered rice wafers are currently my savior. But I’ll definitely make your truffles next week!
Christine Skari says
Ohhh I need to go check out those date snack balls that you have! They sound delicious! Do you have them up on your blog :)?
I’m the same way when I’m studying/working! I need something to snack on
Ksenija @ With An Open Mind says
I wanted to put them up today, but I’ve been too lazy. It’s definitely on the list for tomorrow though 😉

Pinning, right, now. I love truffles/balls/bites/etc. of any kind, but I’m especially in love with mocha flavor. If it were up to me, I’d get an iced mocha coffee errday (my bank account thinks otherwise). Also–LOL at the science of mocha avocado truffles. Makes sense to me 😉
Christine Skari says
Thanks so much for pinning! I really appreciate it when people do that :). And yes, me too! I’m ball obsessed (hahah… gross).
I’m trying to cut out my bad Starbucks habit, but went 3 times this week to get lattes with three espresso shots in them to help me study late… They were like $5 a piece! YIKES haha.
Autumn Wieland says
yummm! mocha flavored things are very high on my list of deliciousness! so these are probably even better than the original!
Christine Skari says
The original is pretty darn tasty as well, but the coffee really brings out the chocolate flavor! OBSESSED 😉
Davida @ The Healthy Maven says
You go Glen Coco! Lol love it.
I made a similar recipe using chickpeas instead of avocados this week and they were bomb. Must pick up some avos and try these!!!
Leigha @ Minougirl says
You tested on 10 people?! You are pretty generous lol! When I make a recipe my mom is lucky if she gets one bite 😉 Love the Glen Coco reference too Number of these I want to eat? The limit does not exist! Haha!
Miranda @ Lovely Wife Lovely Life says
I NEED THESE IN MY LIFE. HOLY COW.
Jamie @ Sometimes Healthy Living Blog says

Amanda @ .running with spoons. says
First the apple crisps and now these? You’re killing me with deliciousness over here, girlie, but I guess that’s not a bad way to go 😉 And I have to say that I’m loving your logic behind making these truffles… it makes perfect sense.
Liz @ Carpe Diem and Run says
Um, wow. Yum! I cannot wait to make these
Natalie Staeckeler says
These sound absolutely delicious. When I’m able to do more in the kitchen, I will definitely whip some of these up. I love avocado and chocolate. These will be a great snack! Your plan is absolutely foolproof.
Have an amazing day and I hope things get easier with school and your busy schedule!
Kaitlin says
OH living in the library, I remember those days. Hang in there! Am loving this recipe! These will be making an appearance in my kitchen and work soon

Would it work to replace the brown sugar with granulated stevia?
Christine Skari says
Hi there!
I haven’t tried it, so I can’t say for certain. To be safe, I would try substituting in only half of the stevia and keeping at least half of the brown sugar. Just to be safe- if it turns out well, I’m sure you can replace all of it!
