Today started off on a panicked note when I woke up late at 7:35 for an 8 a.m biochemistry class. I swear, sometimes my alarm turns itself off! I rushed to get dressed and decided to throw on workout clothes so I would be able to hit up the gym right after class.
After a fast-paced lecture, I biked the 1 minute route to my campus gym. I wasn’t in the mood to do too much after a late night of studying, so I stuck to 20 minutes on the elliptical and an ab workout. When I think about it, though, I get a ton of cardio through all the biking I do. Biking is huge at UCSB and I’m usually going at a fast pace for around 35 minutes a day.
After the gym, I had an hour and half before my 3 hour biology lab. I worked on reviewing the lab, showered, and got dressed for my first rainy day in months! The weather in California is awesome, but sometimes a bit of cold is a welcomed change. I love being able to snuggle up in my pjs with a warm cup of cocoa or coffee and spend time reading blogs or my latest book.
Anyways, while it only rained for a little bit, it completely made my day! I got to wear my new boots that I snagged for only $30. Oh happy day!
Before I knew it, it was time to get back to campus and start working again. Lab was exhausting and involved a huge amount of concentration (like usual), so I had to refuel my brain with a pumpkin spice donut and coffee. HEAVEN!
I worked on some organic chemistry reading before heading out to the class at 6 p.m. Right after it ended, I biked straight over to my tutoring class (my school offers free tutoring classes and the teaching assistants usually are MUCH better at explaining material). By the time I got out at 8:30, I was starving! Kyle and I met up at our favorite Vietnamese restaurant and ordered our usual.
So that was today in a nutshell! My weekend starts early, though, because I only have one class on Thursday and Friday (hooray!).
I’m looking forward to a good night’s sleep and being able to catchup on all of my work. Hope you got through hump day!

please explain what is in that glass that looks like pure delight-fullness!! You know, I was thinking the same thing about my alarm turning off by itself this morning too. I set it up for 5:30, and the next time I saw the clock it was 7.. wtf?!!

It’s Thai tea! Literally the most delicious drink ever :). Haha seriously, though, I think little gnomes are turning off our alarms as a joke!

I’m so jealous you guys got rain! I’ve been obsessively checking the forecast, but nope. Sigh. It’s just always sunny! #cagirlproblems

Sounds like the perfect rainy day! You actually make me miss a regular class schedule 😉 . Good thing that I can enjoy one last semester of studying in France before the “real life” (horror) begins.
btw – these boots are killer! I’ve been searching for similar ones for a while and I cannot believe that you only paid 30 Dollar for them!

At least you didn’t wake up at 8 for an 8 am class like I did, on the second day of school. 😛 Love the booties and so jealous of California weather. Where I live, rainy days are a way too common occurence. Really not a big fan of the heat and humidity. Happy weekend in advance then! Days with only one class truly are the best. 😀

If you’re ever craving some rainy, gloomy fall weather, you’re more than welcome to come visit me up here in Canadaland — we’ve had a week or so of straight gloom, which I have to admit has made things feel all sorts of cozy.
And I’m not even kidding when I say that you’re probably the 5th person to mention donuts this morning… and it’s barely even 5 AM! The universe is trying to tell me something…

Rainy days are the perfect excuse to get all cozy inside – with PJs, book, blanket and scented candles (!). While not rainy it has gotten decidedly colder over here and I’m most definitely going for all of the above.
Waking up late for classes? I can’t say it didn’t happen for me before. Luckily less when it came to university but school … yes. Too bad the 15-minute bike ride didn’t get any shorter only because I was hurried ;).
Those boots are gorgeous and I still need to find some myself. And yay for an early weekend!

Looove the boots! I love rainy days too. We’ve been getting quite a few here in Michigan!

I’m so jealous of all your biking! The area around our apartment is walk friendly, but not really bike friendly. Hopefully our next place will be better for that!

I’m so jealous of your boots, so cute!

I’m seriously laughing because that’s what time I would wake up for an 8 a.m. class on a regular basis. I love that your campus is so bike-friendly! UCF has a lot of skateboards that try to run you over constantly lol but not many bikes unfortunately (the area around the campus is pretty spread out so we’d be biking 5+ miles to and from class… plus sweating profusely since it’s usually 100 degrees lol) Where did you get your boots?! I love them!

I am actually visiting Cali from the East Coast (where it’s really cold all.the.time!) and we were excited for a bit of sunshine. We got the cool rain instead! Ah well. C’est la vie!

I love the occasional rainy day because it gives you the perfect excuse to drink even more coffee and sit inside to read. Sometimes a rainy day is just necessary in life. 😀 It’s rainy here in PA today and I’m definitely enjoying a bit of extra coffee

I LOVE THOSE SHOES. Where’d you get them?

It started raining in Va yesterday and is supposed to go through Sunday! Boo. We needed the rain, and I have to say I’m enjoying staying inside today with this gloomy weather.
I love your boots!

LOVE those boots – where did you get them?!?!?

Oh SUPER cute boots!!! And I think a pumpkin spice donut is perfect year round

Busy girl!!! It’s been rainy and gross here for way too long. Time to move to California!

Bring on the weekend! 😀
Wearing my pyjamas, with a book/blog and cup of coffee in hand is my idea of heaven. Even with the weather getting nicer here, it will still be a staple of my weekend 😉
In my mind California is this perennially sunny place, where people on TV live … And Ellen further perpetuates that belief I have by joking that as the weather gets colder in CA she puts away her summer t-shirts and breaks out her fall t-shirt hahaa 😛
