Broccoli and Beef Recipe

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know that I love asian food. Mexican cuisine? Meh. Italian? It’s okay. But, plop anything that involves the fantastic flavors of Thai/Japanese/Korean/Vietnamese/Chinese cuisine in front of me, and I will demolish the entire plate of food.

One thing I’m not a fan of is the overall nutrition of some of the classic take-out items that are readily available. (I’m looking at you, Panda Express. Give me all of your orange chicken).

That’s why I was ecstatic when I made a healthier version of a classic Chinese favorite to be both delicious and good for you! Give a round of applause for (are you clapping yet?) this broccoli and beef recipe!  **nutrition posted below**

Broccoli and Beef

I won’t lie, I was running around the house is cooking-ecstasy when I first tasted the fruits of my labor. There was some dancing to Taylor Swift and then I proceeded to eat almost all of it before realizing that I had to take a quality picture to share with you guys. I can’t get over how delicious the sweet and salty combination turned out and how quickly dinner came together.

When I usually try a new recipe, it takes me much longer than usual to cook it up since I’m constantly modifying, tasting, and taking my time to make it as perfect as possible. This recipe for broccoli and beef was ready in 30 minutes flat… on the first try!

The broccoli stays nice and crunchy and the florets soak up all of the mouthwatering pan juices! Just include some brown rice, and you got a tasty and healthy meal!

I’m also linking up ti WIAW so I can share this delicious recipe with the blogging world! :)

Hahaha I love all Asian foods AND Mexican and Italian and everything else… I really know NO limits when it comes to ethnic cuisines – they’re all so good! But this looks awesome, and YES to Panda Express! I used to eat there all the time!! Ha! Good job with the recipe! I’d be dancing around like crazy too, you go girl!

Sweet and salty is one of my favorite combinations. (Chocolate covered pretzels, anyone?) I agree with you on the Panda Express front–I LOVE take out Chinese food, but it’s so unhealthy for you in so many more ways than just its nutritional stats. This looks like a fantastic alternative, though. Send some to me ASAP. Kthxbye. 😉 <3

Omg, we’re having steak for dinner tonight, but I’ll be on my own for dinner for the next two…I think I just found the perfect thing to have one of those nights 😀 Love that the broccoli stays crunchy, too! I don’t mind broccoli…until it gets mushy. Then I won’t eat it. Crunchy, however is a definite win! Nicely done on such a tasty looking recipe :)

Okay I LOVE Chinese food. I’m Italian so I can always have a nice bowl of pasta, but I would so much rather have some delicious stirfry. Not to mention broccoli is in just about every Asian dish so that is another win :) Looks fabulous girl!

I love Asian Food. It is my absolute favorite. I’m always so impressed when people create their own recipes. I’m one that needs to follow recipes step by step. I guess I’m starting to venture out a little and trying different things.

Instead of commenting on how delicious this dish looks like everyone else, I have to say… I am in love with the bowl! Ha Ha. Where might you of got this little gem at? :)

Hahah I always admire other people’s plates and bowls! I think I got it from an asian supermarket, they usually have a really great selection of asian-styled dishware :). Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful!

I’d love to try this and just omit the beef! Asian style broccoli is the BEST in my opinion! There is just something magical about broccoli+garlic+ginger+soy sauce. :)

Sesame chicken used to be my WEAKNESS. Damn you, Panda Express! And I love baking while I jam to music. It makes for a good time! 😉

Um, yum! I hope I can make that soon :) I love Asian food too – but the last time I had Chinese food (General Tso Chicken) I hadn’t eaten much fat/richness lately, and let’s just say that night was not very fun.

Whew, girl, I’m always iffy on Chinese food, but every time I think I’m going to hate it, I LOVE it! Here’s to trying new things..I might just have to try this! It’s actually making me re-think my thoughts on new food!

LOVE IT!!!!!! I know what you mean. The portions on my photoes are often a little smaller then the portions I actually eat. I often remember to take photoes not unless I am half through my meal! Ooops :-)

This was seriously delicious. I added just a tad of blackbean sauce since I know my husband likes it. This was a huge hit with him, he wants it on rotation! Thank you!

I’m so glad it turned out well for you! Glad your husband liked it too :D! The extra addition of blackbean sauce sounds phenomenal! He must be one happy guy 😉

    Looks delish!
How many servings did you use when you calculated the nutrition facts? (How many servings should this recipe make)? Can’t wait to try it!
