Marvelous is going on a double date to Hollywood!

On Friday, Kyle and I went to a delicious Korean barbecue (all you can eat!) dinner followed by a trip to the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood with some friends. They had found a groupon for a movie night in which the theatre played three consecutive Frankenstein films. I’m usually such a wuss whenever it comes to scary movies, but the original “horror” movies were more than manageable ;). Our boys decided that they wanted to dress up and started coordinating outfits a couple of days before the event, way before us girls even were thinking about what to wear. What divas!

IMG_1034 IMG_1041Marvelous is fun and enjoyable fitness!

Kyle and I have been making good use of the nice summer weather and have spent quality time hiking and playing tennis. We have extensive trails near us that offer up a fantastic view and are so great for explorin’. Since Kyle has always been the outdoor-sy Eagle Scout type, we’ve been thinking that a trip to a neighboring island off the coast or the mountains would be fun trips to make. He’s been on 2 week long back packing trips before (yes, he was very smelly and hairy), and though I couldn’t handle the lack of showers or bloglovin’ for that long, a couple of days out in the fresh air sounds like a blast! I can’t think of a more pleasant way to get moving and break a sweat!

Marvelous is the boyfriend cooking up a delicious dinner.

Nothing like a home cooked meal of bratwurst, absolutely delicious baked potato fries, and salad! Kyle was so cute and put together a romantic and fun dinner date, complete with candle light and strawberry shortcakes! IMG_1057 IMG_1073 IMG_2766

My shortcake was piled high with strawberries and whipped cream like a champ, Kyle’s was much more ladylike. (what a pansy ;)!)

IMG_2768 IMG_2773Marvelous is going to the Farmer’s Market!

I don’t know about you guys, but I LOVE the Farmer’s Market! There’s atmosphere is filled with good cheer and fresh produce and everyone just seems to be in a wonderful mood. Just look at these beauties! While I didn’t end up buying anything but some lunch and flowers, I always enjoy just browsing the stalls at my own leisure and enjoying the sun.

IMG_1054And last, but certainly not least, marvelous is spending way too much time on Pinterest looking up giraffe pictures!

Yes, I’m obsessed. How could you not love them? I mean, SERIOUSLY. LOOK AT THEM. LOOK AT THEM I SAY!

Wait… How’d that get in here?

So on that awkward note, have a wonderful Monday!

I’m not quite sure how long you & your man have been together but girl can you two get married already! You both are adorable, and perfect! Seriously, a home-cooked candle light dinner… so sweet!

Both you and Kyle look like gems, per usual. :) Also, I LOVE KOREAN BBQ. My friends and I have had some interesting experiences…the first time we went, we were confused as to whether or not we had to cook our own food, so the guys just started plopping meat onto the grill and the owners freaked out at us, haha.

The wittle baby giraffe is adorable. Fun fact: at the Houston Zoo last summer, a giraffe walked so close to me that I was literally 6 inches away from him. I should dig up that photo…it was a great moment in the life of me. :)

Girl, if I had trails like that I’d be all over hiking!! So jealous!! :) You and your man are so freaking cute I love it! Haha, total diva behavior right there! :) Those potatoes/fries look SO good. I had something similar on Saturday morning and they hit the darn spot, for sure…. Those giraffes are totally precious, I’ll give you that! :)

Tennis! I must do some of that this summer! My only goal is to not hit the ball over the tennis walls 😉
So wonderful of Kyle to prepare such a wonderful dinner for you two! Too cute! :)
Oh and those giraffes… omg so adorable. I seriously just made that first one my desktop picture. Now I can see his adorable face ALL DAY.

Your pictures of the farmer’s market reminded me of my plans to visit some this summer. Obviously since I just remembered that has been an epic fail on my part. I guess that should be my goal to accomplish by the end of the summer!

Your cook out dinner looks so sweet. I hope you two had fun.

Giraffes are just cute. It’s as simple as that.

Awww…your BF cooked for you too!!! Love it! Love all the fresh produce at the farmer’s market!

I’m sooooo glad that I’m NOT the only one obsessed with giraffes too!!! They’re the cutes animals ever!!!!

Aw you and Kyle are such a cute couple, and I absolutely adore your dress in that first picture! I agree, hiking, backyard BBQs, and farmer’s markets are indeed marvelous and personally some of my favorite summer activities :)

      Thank you so much Liz!

Really? I’m so glad you did! It’s been SO unbelievable helpful for me already and I can’t wait to share more of my food creations since my photos have improved 😀

Aw you two always look so adorable together! Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! There is seriously nothing that I love more than fresh strawberry desserts in the summer, so your strawberry shortcakes look amazing! Plus, I love farmers markets. There is nothing better than fresh, home-grown veggies! 😀

You and Kyle are adorable! I miss going to the farmers market. I can’t wait to get back to school for that. And those giraffes are super cute! Especially the last one…haha looks like you had a marvelous weekend!

Hiking, going to the movies and a date night? Sounds like a pretty awesome weekend to me and that picture of you and Kyle is so cute!
It’s been way too long since I’ve been hiking the last time but that should really happen again. Though I’m with you on keeping it to shorter trips and forego the non-shower adventures ;).
Now I totally get why you’re all about giraffes – that baby giraffe is super adorable.

Alright those giraffes are adorable. I totally get the obsession and your man, Kyle is not too shabby either. Dressed up date nights, strawberry shortcakes. What a great guy; sounds like a keeper.
I could enjoy some outdoor hikes and even sweating to the scenery so long as a hot shower and my own bed is waiting for me at the end. You and Kyle are much braver (or maybe smellier….I kid) than me.
I love your marvelous weekly recap. You should think about joining my Week In Review linkup since this post fits the bill perfectly.
Oh and those farmers market tomatoes are to die for….I want all the tomatoes.
    Have a great week.

  12. says

Holy yum! That photo of all the different tomatoes at the Farmer’s market has me craving some caprese salad or fried green tomatoes. You and your date look adorable before your movie night. And how thoughtful that your man cooked you up a delicious looking dinner complete with lantern light. Sounds like a great weekend 😉

You’re hysterical! That last picture just about made my day lol 😉 Giraffes are super cute! I’m obsessed with puppies and panda bears AND baby elephants! What the heck they’re all great haha. I too love going to the local farmer’s market. It’s always a blast to see all of the fresh produce. You and your boyfriend are a perfect match! What cuties! :)
