Weekend Recap: Workouts, Food, and DIY Project

Hi, friends!
So it’s the end of the weekend and I’m heading back up to Santa Barbara to start a new quarter of school. It’s been such a nice break and I found a nice medium between relaxing, catching up with blogging, working out, and spending time with friend and family.

Here’s a quick picture-saturated recap of my weekend!

Workouts with this handsome guy! We were really good about getting to the gym and went five times in the last week. Five days of intense cardio+weights are making me enjoy today as a rest day even more haha!

ImageWe also grabbed some delicious food at our favorite Thai restaurant after our workout. Fueling up for a fun DIY project!

After lunch, Kyle and I headed over to Home Depot to pick up some supplied for our project. I’ve had my eye on making a faux table for my food photography that’s similar to the one that Lindsay from Pinch of Yum has for a while and finally got to making it.

Here’s a picture of Lindsay’s board and I’ll put up a picture of our final product soon! It turned out SO well and I’m completely smitten by it! I feel so lucky to have a handyman to help me with my blog projects :).

Met up by chance with Kyle’s dad at Home Depot!

Kyle’s family keeps chicken and geese in a small barn in their backyard and I always have a fun time playing with them when I go over. If you can actually “play” with chickens haha. It’s almost bizarre how docile their chickens are, they stand by you waiting for you to pick em up and pet them!

My all-time favorite chicken ever:

Question of the Day: What did you do this weekend?

What a fun & simple weekend. Can’t wait to see you & Kyle’s finsihed product. Our weekend has consisted of March Madness, movies, good food, and cuddle time. We’ve been dealing with sandstorms lately so neither one of us are keen on the idea of being outside LOL.

Build your own table as a movable surface? How useful! I am really intrigued to make on myself back in Germany. I am starting to get excited about going back home with so many plans at my hand. Please share a picture of the finished product :) !

I had valiant attempts a few weeks back to DIY some things…I epically failed. However, I did leave the store with a burger grilling pan promising juicy burgers.

Glad you had some time to relax before the nerd glasses and midnight study sesh par-tays come back in to play.

Love this! Making a wooden table for photos is on my to-do list for sure. I just need to wait til the weather is warmer so I can work on it outside :) Anxious to see how yours turned out!

I’ve seriously been meaning to make a faux table background forever now. I love DIY projects, but they just take me forever to get started. Maybe I’ll get a little boost of motivation now that the weather is starting to warm up. Did you use a tutorial or just wing it?

Looks like an awesome weekend! <3 I can't get over how much you and Kyle do together- actin like a married couple already! 😉 I laughed out loud at the picture of that chicken! It's like the Elvis of the chicken world haha!

Oh wow! How cool is that faux table?! Cannot wait to see the finished product. I’d love to have something like this for my new apt. Can Kyle fly out here and help me make it? haha joking – though it would be nice to have a Kyle in my life to help me with these types of things :-)

Oh my gosh – I’m OBSESSED with Lindsay’s table. I never thought about making my own! I miiight have to do that soon! So excited to see how yours turned out. Now your photos are going to be even better (if that’s possible!) That’s too funny about running into Kyle’s dad at Home Depot – stuff like that happens all the time around here! And that pic of the dog at the end totally got me. Stunning!

You and Kyle are so cute! I must get on that project, that looks like an awesome set up for pictures! I typically go to the fabric store and buy scraps that I think are pretty or that would match certain dishes. It would be cool to have some sturdier set-ups too. Thanks for linking to it! :)

I can’t wait to see what the table looks like! That sounds like a fun DIY project to do. :)
I always love a good week full of good workouts. I can’t wait to get back into that soon!
I really need to get my hands on some thai food.
