Creatures of Habit

Hello! It’s a beautiful and sunny day in Santa Barbara and my day so far has been so nice. As usual, I woke up pretty early at 6:30 a.m. I like being a morning person for the most part, but sometimes I wish I could just sleep in a bit. Good thing I love naps ;).

I was starving today but didn’t have many options for breakfast left. I ended up having half a bagel with cream cheese and some See’s Candy (super balanced, I know). Since I turn into a hangry monster, Kyle and I decided to grab an early lunch at 11. We decided to get Vietnamese food since we are creatures of habit and walk the 25 minutes there since it’s so nice out.

Kyle got a beef dish and I got my usual fried rice with pork, beef, shrimp, and pineapple. The give you a copious amount of food, which is obviously just a challenge. Pshh, 5 lbs of rice? No problem. (Okay, Kyle helped… a lot). Like always, it was delicious and went perfectly with a Thai Iced Tea. I swear it’s impossible to not guzzle that sweet thang down in one gulp. It takes some serious willpower!

It was nice to stretch out our legs. Yesterday’s lifting workout really kicked my ass and I’m a bundle of sore. A hot shower will definitely help, along with some yoga that I’m planning on doing later! If I’m in the mood, I’m also going to try to go for a short run when the weather cools down.

Other than that, my day is just going to involve writing a French essay, Chemistry homework, and going to my friend’s acapella concert, which should be fun!

I hope  you’re having a brilliant day!

Elliptical Workout and Outfit of the Day!

It’s such a b-e-a-utiful day today! I wore my new red shorts with a lace top and my brown gladiator sandals. I usually don’t do anything with my hair on an everyday basis, so I’m sporting my loose beachy waves like normal. Smiles, of course, to complete the outfit :).

Workout

I also created a super fast but effective elliptical routine that I often use before hitting the weights! It’s perfect for getting your heart rate up and makes you feel like you’re actually working out and not just going through the motions. I hope you guys enjoy it!

20 Minute Elliptical Interval Workout

The Plan for the rest of the day is to head over to French class, grab some lunch, and then prepare myself for my Calculus section and 4 hour Chemistry lab (vomit). Dinner will be late (around 9 or 10) and will probably revolve around Vietnamese food and a delicious iced tea with Kyle. I hope all of you have a wonderful day!

Busy Bee

Today was another early morning for me, I was up and awake at 6:30 a.m. and worked until 9 on my Chemistry Lab Report. Then it was time to grab some breakfast! I had crunchy fruit salad (basically a mix of fresh fruit and granola) with about a half cup of cottage cheese on the side for some tartness and protein. It’s made with copious amounts of granola, so I usually don’t eat all of it and excavate for fruity bites!

Coffee too!

That didn’t hold me over for long, so I snacked on some unsweetened apple sauce and a nutri-grain bar before my 12 o’clock French class.Luckily, I was able to finish my lab report before heading out to class. Glad I got it out of the way! Those suckers are the worst ;).

After French I biked back to get some lunch with Kyle. UCSB is a HUGE biking school and I depend on my giraffe bike to get me everywhere :). I love those beautiful, sunny days with just a hint of a breeze!

Lunch was a salad (I love me some carrots- I promise there are some lettuce leaves in there!) and some teriyaki beef with rice and more veg. I also snuck a couple of bites from Kyle’s grass fed burgers and curly fries. Yum!

Then it was right back to work.

Thursdays are always my least favorite day of the week. It should be illegal to have a mandatory 4 hour chemistry lab.

How I feel about lab.

I basically spent 4 hours making these crystals. Don’t get me wrong, they’re pretty, but in the future I’d prefer to buy them at a craft store for 23 cents ;).

Mad scientist in training right here!

I didn’t get out till 10 and was HUNGRY! Embarrassing enough to say, Kyle and I went to the same restaurant as yesterday. We just can’t get enough of Vietnamese food! I order some pineapple fried rice with lean chicken breast and shrimp. We also split a Vietnamese iced tea which is out of this world. Kyle ordered a beef dish, but was more than happy to help me with my huge plate of food!

It’s been such a long day, I’m glad I won’t have another Thursday for a week. Bring on the weekend!
