Mechanical Bulls and Apes, Oh My!

This weekend so far has been filled with lots of fun times with good friends!

On Friday night I went with some of my guy friends+Kyle to a party. It was very impromptu and I had expected to spend the night inside watching netflix! I rushed to get ready in 5 minutes and we were off. It was a TON of fun though, and I weirdly met up with a bunch of high school friends!

My friend “Hot” Ryan who is insane and wakes up for 5 a.m killer crew practices every morning! He’s such a great guy and helpes me out in the weight room a lot :). More about Hot Ryan here.

My friend Lexi from high school! We basically traded boyfriends when we were 16 years old. Awkward but funny story ;). We got asked if we were sisters about a million times that night. Do you see a resemblance?

It was a blast, but I sure did feel it on Saturday morning! I was absolutely exhausted. The night out AND the heavy weight lifting during Friday’s workout together made my bones feel tired. I listened to my body and didn’t do any exercise on Saturday, but still had it in me to hit up a small carnival with my friends!

That's my cowboy!

That’s my cowboy!

Mechanical bull riding is so so so hard. The key is to grip with your thighs- something that these big ol’ soccer legs are great for ;). My sombrero was huge and kept on falling down my face! Half of my ride involved me not being to see at all since my neck and head were in the hollow part of the hat.

IMG_2278 IMG_2285 IMG_2283After all the carnival fun, I knew it was time to get some work done on my study/work calendar. I spent the rest of the day (from 2-10 p.m) working and then finished the night off by watching the original Planet of the Apes with Kyle. I LOVE that movie. The special effects aren’t what they are today since it was made in 1968, but the storyline is so fantastically interesting that I didn’t mind watching it again!

By the time I went to bed at 12:45, I was too tired to move. I plan to spend my Sunday getting some rest and maybe hitting up the gym or going for a run depending on how hot it gets!

Did you do anything fun this weekend? What’s one of your favorite movies?
