Drowning in Sweat

Today started off with an early morning run. I wasn’t too much in the mood to go out and almost justified not working out since I have a big paper due tomorrow, but I haven’t moved in the last couple of days and I knew I would feel better after. And, as always, I didn’t regret lacing up my running shoes :).

Even though I was out decently early, it was HOT HOT HOT and I thought I was going to die for a good portion of my loop. I’m still happy with my times, though, and am looking forward to going on some cooler night runs this weekend. Hopefully I won’t drown in my own sweat like I did today 😉

I’m loving the Run Keeper app. It does such an awesome job with accurately tracking my runs and I’m a sucker for the stats it shows me. Oh, and it sends me the BEST emails after every jog I go on.

Too cute!

Too cute!

After my run I worked on my essay before eating a pretty standard breakfast with Kyle. Nothing like a PB and J banana.

Then it was back to work until I had to leave to go to class. I love the weather now (as long as I’m not running!)

Sunny day1

I didn’t shower after running ;). Shhh.

I also had an exciting moment where I checked my Pinterest and saw that someone had repinned one of my workouts! It’s the little things, right?

The plan for the rest of the day is to finish writing a copiously long history paper and then grab some dinner with the boy friend. I can’t wait to get that bugger done!

Have a great day!

Peanut Butter Fingers & Stress

Hello all of my beautiful online friends! I’m sorry I’ve been MIA these past couple of days, I had my math midterm today and have a huge history paper due on Friday so I’ve been on work mode. It’s been quite the busy and stressful week and I haven’t had any time to blog. I missed out on WIAW, which is a big bummer for me, but I’ll recap some of my eats :).

FOOD!

Peanut butter fingers!

Peanut butter fingers! (inspired by one of my favorite bloggers!)

A peanut butter finger followed each practice math question I got right. Food (especially pb) is the perfect reward ;). I think in a past-life I was a dog since this method of training (a.k.a learning) works so effectively for me. Woof.

IMG_2027 IMG_2210 IMG_2207I had a weekday dinner date with my main man tonight and it was… you guessed it! Vietnamese food! I got my usual fried rice with added pineapple (I LOVE salty-sweet combos) and a Thai iced tea. I actually ordered some thai tea leaves to make it myself over the weekend and it was a giant success! I don’t mean to brag or anything, but mine is way better than the restaurant version ;). I might do a giveaway of some of my favorite things and I would definitely include the recipe and ingredients for the tea if anyone would be interested in that. It is so freakin’ delish!

After Starbucks

Classy and mature t-shirt: “T-Rex Hates Pushups”

Vietnamese food

10x happier than any clam!

My workout have been pretty subpar lately since I haven’t had any free time. I find it way too hard to fit in cardio and weights when I’m up till 2 a.m studying and wake up at 5 to review. I’m really looking forward to working up a sweat tomorrow though! Hopefully it won’t be too warm and I can go for a morning run. My legs are itching to move!

Track Workout and Obnoxious Spandex

Today started off on a sweaty note with a trip to the track to get in a great workout! I fought the boredom of running in circles by breaking it up with various strength training exercises. Let me tell ya, it gets 20 times harder to run after some flying lunges! It was great getting in two sneaky miles and went by in a flash. Let me know if you try it :)

Track Workout

I think someone needs to help me. I have an obsession with bright spandex. Obnoxious is my favorite color!

Blue spandex

After my workout, I made some breakfast. As usual, Pinterest inspired me to try something new and I baked an egg inside an avocado with a pinch of pancetta (Italian bacon) and broiled a grapefruit. I used some of the eggs from the chickens Kyle’s family has and they were delicious! I also had a small orange on the side which was perfectly ripe :). While everything was in the oven, I decided to foam roll a little since I’m still sore from Friday’s workout. Foam rolling is simultaneously the best and worst thing ever.

Such a cute label!

Torture machine.

IMG_0768 IMG_0772The avocado was so good! Next time I’m going to season the avocado as well as the eggs since it needed a bit more salt and dice up some fresh garlic for some added flavor. The latte on the side was glorious :).

Now I have to rush to get ready to go grab some Hawaiian food for lunch with Kyle! I’ll post again later with some more news since I’m sure all of you are riveted by my exciting life ;).

What new recipe have you tried lately?
