Can we all just take a hot second to take in the fact that it’s finally summer?
I have all these scary grown-up emotions running around in my head (I’m officially a senior in college… like WHAAAA), but I’m mostly just unbelievably excited because summer is HERE and there is no other time of year that pulls at my heartstrings in quite the same way.
To me, summer has always signified the end of school, days spent at the beach with friends, summer crafting projects, my birthday (I’m turning twenty-fun on the 19th woot woot!), and having plenty of time to get in some quality R&R. And you better believe that I appreciate the free time and lack of all school-based responsibilities after each grinding academic year of being a molecular and developmental biology major.

Hi friends!
Today I’m lucky enough to have a wonderful guest post to share with you from the lovely Julia from Lord Still Loves Me. This girl. Where do I even start? After she reached out to me a while back (a few years now that I think about it), we became fast friends. I fell in love with her courage, zest for life, compassion, sweetness, and authenticity. She’s just so real. So raw. SO inspiring. You can tell how much she wants to help others and I knew that she would be the perfect person to reach out to and ask for a guest post from. I know that some of my readers are currently struggling with eating disorders and, although I can’t relate on the same level, I hope in Julia you find a beacon of hope for true, full-hearted recovery. In short, this girl is amazing <3. I’m going to let Julia take over now, but I’ll see you guys tomorrow for a tasty recipe! I just finished finals, so I’ll be more present soon!
When Christine shot me a text asking if I would be interested in writing a guest post for her blog, I did a happy dance around my room. Not even kidding. I have been reading Apple of My Eye for years now (that feels crazy to think about!), and I admired Christine from afar for a long time. When I was a senior in high school, I was having a tough time choosing what college to attend the following fall, and I noticed that Christine went to one of the schools I was deciding between. I had never really reached out to a blogger before, but I figured I should give it a shot and ask her about UC Santa Barbara.
Hi everyone!
Just checking in quickly to say that I’ll probably be a little absent this week since I have my dreaded finals. I was going to post a weekend recap, but realized that it basically would consist of 10,024 photos of me working at a desk with the only variation being if I were drinking a latte or green tea. I also probably wouldn’t be able to post any decent photos because the textbook for one my harder finals (Biology of Reproduction) is filled with some almost laughably embarrassing diagrams and I can barely make myself study it in public haha.
To add some visual flair, here’s a quick photo that I finished editing from the fun house photo session that we did on Sunday evening. We have some seniors graduating out, Lana moving back home to New Zealand, and a few girls living elsewhere next year so we knew we needed to have one last huzzah and managed to find time on the day before finals week to squeeze these in. Love them!

Let’s talk purse essentials today.
I’m the kind of person who always likes to be prepared. It’s hard not to be when you’re constantly running around and have to bring your life with you wherever you go. I’m currently balancing a busy schedule that involves being a full-time biology student, balancing two small businesses, working an internship, and fitting in workouts/my social life as a college student. My purse holds some of the main things that help me hold my life together!
