Can we all just take a hot second to take in the fact that it’s finally summer?
I have all these scary grown-up emotions running around in my head (I’m officially a senior in college… like WHAAAA), but I’m mostly just unbelievably excited because summer is HERE and there is no other time of year that pulls at my heartstrings in quite the same way.
To me, summer has always signified the end of school, days spent at the beach with friends, summer crafting projects, my birthday (I’m turning twenty-fun on the 19th woot woot!), and having plenty of time to get in some quality R&R. And you better believe that I appreciate the free time and lack of all school-based responsibilities after each grinding academic year of being a molecular and developmental biology major.
So YES. Summer, my love, I have been waiting desperately for you and now that you’ve finally arrived, I’m going to make the most of the months I have off.
This means lots of “me time” spent doing all the things I love. Like hanging out with Kyle and Tucker (his new pup), hiking, improving my photography, and blogging. And yes, blogging takes a forefront in regards to things I absolutely love love love to do and I’m planning on bringing all of you recipes, fitness tips, fashion finds, and life musings galore! Eeeeeek!
To help me do this, I’m going to need all the inspiration I can get and one of my all-time favorite methods of getting my creativity churning is to peruse my magazines of choice. Magazines have always been my mini-splurge item (they always get me at the checkout lines in Target– too tempting to resist!) and, I’m not going to lie, I pick one up each time I go.
I like to think of it as an investment to helping me become more rejuvenated and inspired with my blogging content. Righttttt 😉 .
Two of my go-to magazines (my mom, sister, and I have been reading People for as long as I can remember) are People and In Style and there is nothing I love more than being able to tuck myself away for some alone time and flipping through the many pages.
I’m especially keen to anything food-related (obviously), but also swoon over all those gorgeous outfits that are featured. I’m undergoing a major closet revamp and am trying to clear out some of the clothes I’ve had for 5+ years and never wear, which means I’m also in the market for new items to add to my wardrobe.
What better way to get inspired than through the pages of a magazine? I love how each issue is kept seasonal and keep me trendy!
So here you’ll find me, reclining on the beach that’s a minute’s walk away from unbelievably stunning college town and soaking up the sunshine and treating myself to some much needed me-time. Cheers to SUMMMAA!!
