Weekend Recap

I feel like a slug. This past weekend was one spent mostly lounging around in the hot hot hot weather and I feel like I’ve been living in a sleepy haze. The last few days have escaped me! Anyways, here’s what I’ve been up to.

Saturday was spent waking up slowly with a homemade latte and continuing my weird obsession with the show Once Upon a Time. You guys. I don’t even like it that much anymore (I’m on the 3rd season), but I feel like I can’t escape its clutches until I finish the entire series. I just need to watch the last season and then I can continue on with my life 😯 . On that note, does anyone have any other good series to watch? I’ve already seen all of Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, The Office, Scandal, and Lost and need some more inspiration.

After a while, Kyle and I worked on a new recipe that’s coming to you guys tomorrow! Any guesses? Here’s a hint: It involves lots of vibrant colors from fresh veggies and has a great crunch to it!

Sunday started similarly with my daily double shot latte before taking a quick shower and getting ready to go to church with Kyle.

After church, we headed over to Starbucks and OH MY GOSH. I’m totally going to sound like your typical Fall-loving white girl, but pumpkin spice lattes have returned and I’m preeetttyyyy darn excited. I like to pretend that I know what seasons are, but I’m going to be honest and admit that I enjoyed my PSL latte in 90 degree weather.

Two of my favorite things: Kyle and Starbucks!

After grabbing our coffee, we headed over to Chipotle to grab some lunch before making a quick trip to Home Depot to get some supplies for a couple projects Kyle wants to do. The man-crafting bug has totally bit him and he is itching to build new things. His latest project? Electrochemical etching and building his own metal phone case from scratch. He is a mechanical engineer through-and-through.

We were also on the hunt for some rustic looking boards for a new back drop for my photography. Unfortunately, the ones we found were  little too clean-cut for my liking, since I’m searching for more of a barn-table look. I just did quick search on eBay, though, and found a few gems that I think will work perfectly!

Now I just need to pick which set I like the most and set Kyle to work with putting it together and painting/staining it. I’m lucky to have a handyman who is happiest when he’s busy making things with his hands :) .

So there you have it! My weekend in a nutshell.

Question of the Day: What is the most eventful thing to happen to you this weekend?

My most wonderful thing this weekend was a trip to Ikea! I love that place way too much. Meatballs & pretty home things, what’s not to love?
For series I totally recommend Suits or Breaking Bad, they’re both so good! You might like the Great British Bake Off as well, it’s a fun program :)

Hm, i love watching new series! My favourite ones are Dexter and Pretty Little Liars!
Your blog is fabulous, dear :)

Ahhh I love love love those rustic boards… I may have to look into those because I really like the one I have now but… sometimes I just want something even more picnic-table-y. Oh and no worries… I was a total oh em gee white girl when I realized the PSL’s were back too ahha.

I’m waiting for the temperature to drop below 75 before I’ll allow myself a PSL, but I’m super excited about them!

Breaking Bad totally sucked me in, so you should check that out. I also like watching a bunch of teenager shows like Pretty Little Liars and Vampire Diaries haha.

Pretty Little Liars! This show is the bane of my 24 year old existence. I cannot skip them even if I try my hardest haha!

Okay, you know how I feel about Starbucks…but I think I really need a PSL in my life. I have NEVER had one and have found myself dreaming about crunching through the leaves with one…swoon. <3

That sign has my name written all over it. For as long as I can remember, any time anyone has asked me what I wanted for dinner, the answer was "chicken"!

Have SOSO much fun during the end of your vacation! Try and send me some of the sun – we need it in Vancouver. 😉

I can’t even believe it’s still that warm down there! I mean, I can… since it’s Cali and all… but we’re currently sitting at a balmy 32 with wet snow 😆 Oh Canada — you got jokes.

And I really need to get around to ordering some new backdrops for my photos. Ugh. Too many choices out there…

Nice wood!! hehe. No seriously, I have been searching for a rustic wood backdrop but I never thought to check ebay. Thanks for sharing!

And I think it’s so sweet that Kyle helps you in the kitchen. My guess is either enchiladas or tacos? Either way, I’m excited to see what you guys made!

Christian and Kyle would get along so well, it’s rediculous. Christian is interning as an engineer at a water jet cutting company and gets to use the jet to cut out whatever he wants out of scrap metal. He just finished working on cutting out a iPhone charging port. Haha! 😉 We were in slug mode this past weekend as well. It’s been a loooooong week of moving, unpacking, rearranging, hooking things up, etc plus work!

    PSL! PSL! PSL!
We’re supposed to hit 60’s this weekend yahhhh! cozy cozy!
Tacos? Are you making tacos? I love tacos!

Downton Abbey is my favorite period TV show. Also, I’m into Mad Men and Gossip Girl. The weather here is psycho. One day it’s hot and muggy and the next day is foggy and rainy. I had a hot vanilla latte on Saturday and today I had to start with iced coffee. Regardless it’s a good thing PSL can be made hot or cold! I’ll be getting one soon!

Once you go engineer, you never go back LOL. That’s what I tell C. I’m in awe at his handiness. I’m also dysfunctional when he’s not around because I break everything and he isn’t there to fix it aka right now as the sink leaks all over the kitchen and he is conveniently without cell service on some remote island in Scotland…time to call Dad! I’m a lost cause haha
