TGIF friends! Well, I’m not too thankful because that means that my dreaded finals are one day closer.
The next few days are going to be a bit hectic for me. It’s currently dead week at my school (the week before finals in college), and I’m probably going to end up falling in to that exam-induced blogging coma where my posts are on the sparse side. I’ll do my best to stay chipper and positive, but organic chemistry has a way of sucking the life out of you and it’s hard to be in a good mood when you literally are not sleeping well because you’re solving chemistry problems in your head at night.
NIGHT IS FOR SLEEPING, BRAIN. Not ochem. Sheesh.
So here are a few things that have been happening lately!
Running is starting to make a comeback into my life. I mean, how can I not enjoy lacing up my shoes and enjoy a morning run along a place like this?
The week before finals, my university puts on a “Dog Therapy Day”, where all sorts of woofers come to help shake some stress out of us students. Funny how much a furry pup can cheer you up! I’m also thankful for all the sunshine. I hate the gloominess of winter and find that it usually makes me feel much more depressed and sad when I’m stuck inside pouring over textbooks. Nothing like some sun on your skin!
One thing that Kyle and I aren’t good at is making home-cooked meals when we start to get stressed out. Kyle is studying to become a mechanical engineer, so he has a ton of work to do as well. At least we can be miserable together hahah (he’s the best library buddy ever). Anyways, that means lots of meals out.
A Wednesday night isn’t complete without dinner at our favorite Thai restaurant and some pineapple fried rice and Thai tea are just what I need to get through my late night lab.
I know this post wasn’t organized/coherent at all, so my apologies! I’m trying my best to respond to comments, but I’d rather spend the free time I have reading/commenting on what you guys have been up to. I read every one of them, though, and they always make my day! Will catch up with them soon :)!
Happy Friday, all!
Question of the Day: What are your weekend plans?
Natalie @ lovenataliemarie says
Good luck with your exams, girlie! I know you will totally rock them! 😀
I have exams tomorrow and Saturday morning. My brain is like fried.. I cannot wait to go on Spring Break next week. I seriously need it!
Aww, look at your purty face. I’m glad that the runs help.
You can’t go wrong with food!
Kelly @ Living Music Happy says
Ugh I’m almost a year out of school, but I still have finals stress burned into my brain! Good luck with everything! Chipotle was one of my favorite study foods, too bad they aren’t open 24/7!
Beth @ Mangoes and Miles says
I’ve had multiple vivid dreams about organic chemistry. Hang in there–it’ll be over before you know it! Our school does the dog thing too, and sometimes individual residential colleges contact shelters/rescue groups and get them to bring some animals. (I’m trying to do this for my college!) Please give me your pineapple fried rice. And your face, because you’re adorable. (Sorry, I sound like a creep.) Best of luck with finals!
cait @pieceofcait says
good luck on exams!!!!! this sat we leave for FL for a few days, ah.. praying the weather is good cause I could use some vitamin D!
Maddi @ Push Ups in Pennyloafers says
That’s so great your getting back into your running routine! Nothing is better for your brain than some wonderful fresh air. Best of luck on your midterms
Arman @ thebigmansworld says
It’s ironic that between you and Kyle- you legit picked the longest houred (prob not a word) courses in the history of college courses- I remember all my engineering and Science based friends had three times as many contact hours as the rest of us!
You hang in there buddy- And don’t forget the See’s candys 😉
Amanda @ .running with spoons. says
Good luck on your exams, girl! I don’t have any finals to study for, but I’m definitely feeling you on the sleep dep part… It’s either jet lag or daylight savings, but I’ve been walking around like a zombie for the past week… And those puppies? Cutest.thing.ever. Why didn’t my school ever do that?
Davida @ The Healthy Maven says
You’ll get through em’ and then you’ll actually miss finals one day…Off to NYC this weekend to relive my college days (minus the studying ;))!
Erin @ The Almond Eater says
Oh my gosh those pups are adorable! My school put on a dog therapy day last year but I couldn’t go because I had class….LAMEEEEE. Also, I love that dress. Good luck with finals! They’ll all be over soon enough
Chrissy @pinkpolishandrunningshoes says
Good luck with exams! I’m hoping for a pretty low key weekend. It was a looong work week. My boyfriend is a high school teacher so tonight we have a hot date to the school play 😉
Melissa @ Nourish By Melissa says
That dog stress relief day is such a cute idea! I’m also so excited for running weather to get here where I live! A few days ago it was the perfect weather and I got so excited for spring…then yesterday, it snowed -.-
Emma @ Life's A Runner says
The upside of having finals so early = you will be DONE before you know it! Well, hm, actually I am pretty sure you will know it. 😉 Good luck!

Jamie @ Sometimes Healthy Living Blog says
I know I’ve mentioned this before, but my sophomore year roomie was in organic chemistry or (O-Chem) as they called it, and I remember the unbelievable amounts of stress it would cause her.
Hang in there!
Also, love the therapy dog idea for finals week – how clever?!
Cailee says
What a beautiful view!! I love Chipotle!! And what a cute dress!! My plans?! Well I’m home for Spring break… but I head back to school this Sunday!

Good luck on your exams my love! I’m going to catch up on some blog reading but it’s nice to hear you’re still doing fabulous (and looking great as ever!) Thought you’d die to know that the zoo near my house is opening a GIRAFFE FEEDING EXHIBIT this weekend. You know where I’ll be!!! 😉
Leigha @ Minougirl says
Good luck on finals!!!!! Wow, you live in a beautiful place. Also, that Chipotle is beautiful. I want to try Chipotle so bad. I hope your weekend isn’t too stressed!

You look gorgeous in that dress!!
I am so jealous of the weather there. I think I’m going to move to California. Chicago weather stinks!!
I love chipotle!! But there isn’t one very close to my house so it’s just a special treat
Nicole @ FruitnFitness says
Good luck with the finals! I know I always get so stressed around exams. I know having Bentley to take on lo walks and cuddle with usually helps with some of that exam stress.
Katherine says
My brother is about to test on OChem too, so I’ve witnessed some of your pain girl! You’ll do AMAZING on the exams though. I’m 100% sure of that! Weekend plans? Lots of rest, finally commenting on blogs, running, and baking banana bread yummm!
Jessie says
Darling, do not apologize. You & kyle both have so much on your plate right now. Good luck on your exams & just keep in mind – there almost over!!!
Meghan @ fitnesscrEATures says
You are so stinking cute – and I can imagine running would be the best in that kind of weather AND scenery! Simply gorgeous! I envy people who get to run where there is water. For some reason, that is the most therapeutic thing for me. LUCKY! And that dog thing -whoever came up with that is a darn genius. I wish they did that when I was in school. Good luck to you and Kyle with all your exams and everything coming up! Summer is ALMOST here girly!
Amy @ Long Drive Journey says
Totally agree with you about good weather improving your mood, but please let me know what exactly “winter” means in California, because I’m pretty sure your winter is my summer. 😉
Good luck with those exams, girlfriend!
Jen@HealthyFoodandFamily says
The things I would do for scenery like that!! Gorgeous!!!
Kirsten @ Fit + Fab says
