I have to say, Monday is a bit of a jerk. Here I am, minding my own business and having a wonderful weekend and Monday always comes along to ruin all my fun. Boo!
Good thing I have some Marvelous in My Monday reflections to help remind me that working hard correlates to playing hard and hopefully that will give me the motivation I need to make it till Thursday (Halloween shenanigans)!
Off we go!
Marvelous is a fun night out!
On Friday a few of my closest friends and I headed out for a great night of dancing, laughter, and fun! We ended up not getting to sleep till 4 in the morning, but it was completely worth the great time!
Marvelous is coffee dates with my handsome guy!
Coffee+Kyle=LOVE!
Marvelous is new foreign friends!
A few weeks ago we met a group of foreign boys who are currently studying abroad at my college from England, Scotland, and Ireland and have been having a blast hanging out with them and comparing our cultures. Our hearts melt when they call us “lassies”! (SO cute!!)
Marvelous is fun fitness!
Being pretty sick for two weeks and having zero time for sleep/working out has really taken a toll on my overall fitness. Not only was I basically stationary for half a month, I lost a sizable amount of weight from having no appetite and have been feeling pretty feeble and weak (something I hate- I love being a strong girl!). It’s a bit irritating to me how quickly you can become out of shape, but I’m working on getting myself back to my previous fitness levels now that I have a bit more time for myself. I’m a huge fan of fun exercise, so tennis with Tiana and our foreign boys is a great way to get my heart rate up and get some conditioning in!
Annnddd that’s all folks! Hope you have some Marvelous In Your Monday as well!
Oh, and one quick thing before I sign off!
I’d love to feature some recipes/workouts from you guys on my Facebook page, so let me know via the comments or shoot me an email/tweet if you have anything in particular you’d like to share!

Good to hear that you feel better. Though you can lose some of your fitness pretty quick while being sick, it also comes back easily if you start to work out again.
Christine Skari says
I agree! Time to get my butt back in shape 😀
Jemma @ Celery and Cupcakes says
So glad that you are feeling better. Sounds like you were hit quite hard. I’m sure that you will be fighting fit again in no time.
Jessie says
Bless your beautiful soul! I’m so happy to hear your finally feeling better. Being sick just flat out sucks… however, the pampering part isn’t too bad =)
Christine Skari says
Aww thank you love! You’re the sweetest :). Haha I agree with both of those statements 😉
Kim @ BusyBod says
You’re so sweet to share our stuff! I’d love if you shared any of my workouts, they seem to be my most popular content
Looks like you were finally able to get some time to unwind a bit this weekend! I kinda miss dancing all night and staying up late, but I’m too old for that these days 😉
Christine Skari says
Of course! I’m heading over now to pick out some workouts to post :D.
Haha I highly doubt that ;).
Davida @ The Healthy Maven says
I LOVE your attitude on being a strong girl. We need more bloggers like you!
Late nights=great nights! And I feel ya on the Monday blues. Trying seriously hard to rally this morning!

I need a good looking guy to have coffee with!!! It would make it ten times better. And I LOVE accents. There is something about them which makes my heart melt a little bit.
Christine Skari says
I completely agree! Accents are pretty damn sexy 😉

I’m glad to hear that you’re feeling better, love! I’m just getting back into running myself, so I can completely relate to how frustratingly difficult it can be to build your fitness back to a level that you want it to be at. But we’ll both get there.
Happy Monday!
Kelly @ Kelly Runs for Food says
Good thing you’re finally feeling better! Looks like you had a great weekend. I also subscribe to the “work hard/play hard” philosophy, glad you got to reward all your hard work with a fun night out!
Christine @ Gotta Eat Green says
Glad to hear you are feeling better! You’ll be back and in good shape in no time (although I can’t imagine you got ‘out of shape’)! And I’m a big believer in work hard play hard.. we need balance!
Aurora@Fitness is Sweet says
I’m glad you’re feeling better! Being sick is the worst. And I totally get the weight loss thing-when I had mono I lost a ton of weight, and I’m pretty sure it was mostly muscle! It does come back though
Leigha @ Minougirl says
Yay for feeling better! Lately on weekends I’ve been going to bed so late – but I’m having fun, so it’s worth it! Aww, foreign guys are so sweet! Have a good Monday girl
Beth Sheridan @sugarcoatedsheridans says
I mean, coffee dates with the cute boy and being called “lassies” I really don’t think it gets much better than that!
jessiebearwhat says
Ha! Omg we have the same title today!!!! I am so there with you!
Meghan @ fitnesscrEATures says
Monday is definitely a total jerk bag, I’m with you on that sentiment! What a cute night out! Those nights out are a necessity for mental health and it looks like you had tons of fun!
Tennis is definitely a fun way to work out, LASSY! So cute! Sorry you were sick for so long! Poor girl!
Cailee @ http://hellohealthyeating.com says
Looks like a fun time!! And “lassies” sooo cute :p
Liz @ Carpe Diem and Run says
I’m in the same boat as far as workouts go – zero motivation/time (which is why I created a workout that I can do in about 6-8 minutes and love doing!)
