Hey all you party people! Hope your weekend is starting off swimingly and that you don’t have too many errands/chores/studying to do and that you have free time to relax!
Here’s a quick roundup of some of my January favorites!
Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain
This stuff is fantastic. I’m a huge fan of red lipstick and it’s a staple in my makeup bag. It lasts forever (seriously, sometimes I wake up in the morning with it still on), is easy to apply, and you don’t feel like you have anything on!
Super cute, flattering, and made with a comfy dry-fit material! I love how breathable the back is and how it was on sale for 60% off. Nothing gets me more excited than a good deal ;).
Panini Press
If you read Kyle’s Birthday Recap, you might remember that I got him a panini press as part of his present. We both are in love with it and it makes me so happy to see Kyle using it so much! While we were eating homemade burgers with caramelized onions and grilled pineapples (all made on the press!) for lunch today, he mentioned that, “I love this panini press so much that if I don’t use it for a meal, I get antsy and start planning out what sandwich I’ll make next” and that he “couldn’t think of a present he’d rather have gotten”. Makes me feel pretty fantastic… and also worried that I won’t be able to keep on thinking of gifts that he’ll like as much haha!
Oh Netflix, you’ve done it again. How am I supposed to function at all when I have a new series tempting me? As a short overview, the series is about a former FBI agent who is attempting to recapture a poetic serial killer that idolized Edgar Allan Poe and members of his cult following (which he amassed on prison computers). It’s extremely complicated and absolutely addicting!
Also, you should follow me on Twitter so you can receive life-changing updates like the one above straight to your mobile phone! Woohoo!
Running
Because it’s one of the most satisfying workouts you could possibly do! While I’m not getting in as many miles as I’d like, a few is better than nothing. I’m hoping to pick it up more as my schedule dies down!
Brown Sugar Banana Oats
I usually don’t use “delicious” as a word to describe oatmeal, but there’s something about this combo that has me swooning. My friend Ryan lent me some of his oats, and I’m not sure what’s different about them, but they have a perfect texture and with melty banana pieces and pools of brown sugar…. ohhh lordy lord I want some right now! Not to mention they take a total of 3 minutes to make. I usually just take around a half cup of dried oats, water, half a sliced banana, and splash of vanilla extract and microwave everything for 2 minutes. Then you top it with brown sugar and beautiful things happen, my friends.
Anyways, that’s all for now!
What are some things you are currently crushing on?
Natasha says
Currently, I’m crushing on the Bachelor, pumpkin oatmeal, watching hockey (Go Wings and Leafs), getting excited for the Olympics, and White Wine and Jose Cuervo Silver Tequila (#sorrynotsorry)!
That workout top is super cute too!! I really love the back! And if I had a panini press…oh boy ohhh boyyy! I would make paninis every single day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They take otherwise normal sandwiches to a whole new level of delicious…especially if copious amounts of cheese is involved!
Have a great day

I would totally use delicious to describe oats, that’s if you make them right! I’m currently eating a bowl of pumpkin banana oats and they are DELICIOUS!
Miranda @ Lovely Wife Lovely Life says
I’m still totally crushing on your new blog design! I can’t get over how perfect it is for you PS those oats sounds amazing…. I will need to try those the next time I have bananas!

I think I may have found a new show to watch on Netflix today! That sounds interesting. I’ve always loved shows including the FBI. I don’t know why.. maybe it’s the intensity and suspense!
That top looks so cute! I always get excited about sales.
I can’t wait to get back into running when I can.
I’d be swooning over that burger with grilled pineapple and oats if it were me! Sounds purely delicious! 😀
You got yourself a new follower on Twitter.

I added brown sugar to my oats today for the first time in months… WHY have I not been adding it?! It’s perfection! I’m so happy the panini maker is going over so well. It makes me wonder why I hardly use mine! Aaand I am in love with your header. It is SO cute!

That lip stain looks and sounds amazing. I will have to see if they have it in Australia yet.
I have not watched The Following but have meant to give it a watch.

Haha just when you think you’ve gotten him the most perfect birthday present you realize that there will be many more birthdays to come. Topping the last years gift is always a challenge! I’m glad he likes it so much though–I think that’s a really good guy gift, especially because guys can be so hard to shop for! Also LOVE that workout top–so cute.
Katie @ Daily Cup of Kate says
I have to find that lipgloss– looks so great on you!
Amy @ Long Drive Journey says
That lipgloss is amazing! Once I am allowing myself to spend money again, I’m totally going to buy some! I love running, too, and can’t wait to get back to it as I recover from my 20,000 injuries (ok, 2, but they were big ones!). Also, the good news with gifts is that you have almost a year until you have to think of another gift for Kyle, and by that time, he will have said other things and you two will have had other experiences that will make finding him a great gift not so difficult!
Cailee says
Love your hat!! And those oats look AMAZING!! YUM… also I love what you said about starting a new Netflix series… it’s so true!!
Jessie says
We don’t have Netflix but I’m sure I could find this series on iTunes – right? It sounds like something Joshua and I would love & we’ve been looking for a new show to add into our weekly watches!
p.s. love the lip stain. Looks gorgeous on you.
